The Pandemic Response by Trump Proves he is Unfit for Office

More than ever we know ONE thing. That one thing is that Donald Trump is unfit to be President of the United States.

We have known this for some time, now, we know it more than ever. His response to this crisis is nothing short of a disaster. The other day the impeached one gloated about how he knows what is best and he will make the final decision on reopening the country.

That’s scary being that all of his decisions over the last four years have been absolutely HORRIBLE!

Today he defunded WHO for telling the truth and calling him out for his failed response. Paula Reid did the same and he called her names , typical dictator thin skinned Trump.

The fact is that Trump dropped the ball. He failed to act in JANUARY and set the social distancing guidelines in place and do a federal lockdown which could have got this under control. Now he wants to reopen when the deaths are increasing. Yeah. Great idea.

He has cost many lives. He did not cause the virus but his unpresidential actions and weak response made it worse. He owns many of the deaths . This was his moment and he failed. He let the country down.

We have most cases in the world and many Americans will die because of his inaction at the onset. Many will suffer thanks to his political games but of course his un-imformed supporters think he’s “great” and the “best”.

He uses these press briefings as political events and he berates and belittles reporters and acts like the bully he is. He doesn’t care about the American people!

He had a chance to right four years of division and failures but he failed here too and history will remember that.

If you look at his track record as president and the things that he has said and done over the last several years it becomes painfully clear that he has been really bad for this country and in every way possible. It is not only that his policies are awful and harmful, but it is that his words do not bring comfort to suffering people, and this is certainly one of those instances.

He has never been fit for office, even from day one. He started out gloating about crowd size that never existed in the first place at his inauguration and that showed us just who he is and what matters to him. The same is true with the press briefings he holds with this pandemic, he cares more about how he looks and his own political interests than how much the country is hurting through this situation.

He wants to blame China, the World Health Organization, Democrats, and the media when it is HIM and his slow response that made this situation what it is and it is his continued divisive rhetoric at these briefings and in his tweets that put salt on the wounds that we already feel. A genuine person and competent president would not behave in such ways, especially when a country is in as much pain as this one is at this time.

Honestly, China did cause some of this, and I question their honesty in how they report cases and where it came from, but at the same time they are not the ones who botched the response once it was here by our government and neither is anyone else. The lack of a solid response is on Trump, it is not the fault of anyone else.

From his anti-immigrant agenda and his wall nonsense to his anti-LGBTQ and women’s rights policies to his love of big banks and corporations over the middle class and American workers to his horrendous stances on foreign policy and the environment, he has been very bad for this country and our standing in the world, and now this just shows what we all knew.

That, Donald Trump is unfit to lead.

He is unfit and unpresidential during normal times, throw in a pandemic and a national/global crisis and he is even more unfit and his behavior just proves that to us day in and day out. Press briefing after press briefing. Interview after interview.

He continues to show us what we already knew. That he is unfit. He is unprepared. He is unpresidential. Obama would not behave in the ways that Trump behaves. Obama would never call the media “fake” if you was asked a question he did not like, nor would he call reporters names like “nasty” and “disgraceful”, and Obama certainly would not use a crisis like we have with COVID-19 to gain political points and use it as a re-election tool.

This is what Trump is doing though.

He is using this crisis to gain a second term, and it is shameful.

The American people deserve better than this. They deserve a leader who is there for them during their time of crisis and chaos and that is exactly where we are at now with this pandemic. We are in a critical situation where there are thousands of deaths daily and a nation in panic and this guy cares more about how he looks and sounds than what we all are going through, yes, we absolutely deserve more than that.

The pandemic could have been prevented as I talked about in a previous article, but now that we are here and this is our reality, we should at least have a leader fit to lead during such a crisis. One who comforts the sick and has compassion for the dead, not one who is running his re-election campaign as a nation suffers and mourns.

He has always been unfit for office, but this time the stakes are higher than they have ever been. In the past, we had policies to worry about and the things he did were harmful, but more than ever, his actions impact the actual lives of Americans.

This is a life and death matter and it is a time when we need a real leader to give us the real answers, not one who uses press briefings as political rallies and re-elections tools nor a president who discounts the sufferings of the country for his own personal gain.

He failed the American people by his failed response to this virus and he continues to fail the citizens of this country by his briefings that are more of him bullying the press members and him gloating about his so-called victories as president than giving any real answers or solutions to this crisis that we all are going through.

Trump has botched this entire thing. If he had acted at the start of it then things would have been much different. We could have done nationally what some cities around the globe did early on in their own crisis and shut things down right after the first case occurred. This would have made a difference in how the virus was contained and in my opinion, would have not let it get to where it is at now.

Trump says that he did not enact social distancing and shut down the country at the start of it back in the early months of the virus because we only had one or two cases. Little does he realize that this is exactly when we should have shut things down as one case becomes two and two becomes ten and ten goes on to become a hundred and so on.

This is how viruses spread and how a country gets a pandemic and a major health crisis on their hands. You nip it in the butt and stop it right when you see the first case. That is how it is done. Trump did not do that and he refuses to own up to his failings on the response and blame others and call people who ask legitimate questions “fake news” and these are the reasons why he is unfit to lead us during this crisis.

America, we have a major problem on our hands and the man who resides in the Oval Office is not our savior nor is he the one who as he once put “can fix it all”. The pandemic continues to get worse and Trump continues to behave like a child and a person who has no clue what he is doing. Americans are dying and we deserve a president who has compassion for the sick and dying and smarts to discover solutions to make it all better.

Trump is not that president. He makes horrible choices. He does not listen to the advice of the experts, like how reopening the country at this point would have catastrophic results. He is unfit, he is unpresidential, he is not who we need to lead us out of this moment in history, yet it is who we have and that should terrify us all!
