The Tale of Two Conventions is The Story of Two Americas

The Republican National Convention (RNC) is not even over with yet and already we can see the vast differences between what they have to offer our country and what the Democrats bring to the table and these two parties are showing that they could not be more different in their values and approach.

The Democratic National Convention (DNC) put out a message of hope, unity, and common sense and that is exactly what our country needs right now, we need to come together as a nation and have compassion for one another, not spread hate and division while having a corrupt president leading the way.

The speakers at the RNC so far have been screaming and pushing this message of a dark and scary America if the Democrats get elected while ignoring the very darkness created by their nominee, and on the flip side we have the folks speaking at the DNC who are talking about the heroes of our country and how our best days are ahead of us.

These are two very different nations that we are discussing here and these two parties are showing they have a very different vision of our country.

Hope and Change Versus Hate and Division

The DNC event was full of hope and promise for our country, while it is the Republican version that has been full of falsehoods, negativity, vile hate, as well as massive division and we are only in day two of their convention as of today.

This is the way that it has always been, those of the left side of the aisle have always been about bringing hope and change and we can’t say that about the extreme right of the aisle.

I make sure to differentiate between those on the right from those on the far right, they are very different.

Those aligned with Trump are the extreme right, they are not the Reagan or even the Bush Republicans of the past. They are about hate and division and have nothing to offer this country that is about hope and moving us forward during these times and we have seen that so far in this convention.

This is the difference, the two conventions offer a different candidate but more than that, they offer a vastly different path for our country and this is why I say that these two events are the tales of two Americas and two ways that we can go into the future.

The people speaking at the Democratic National Convention had that message of hope and change from what we have experienced over the last four years with Trump and the folks speaking at the Republican National Convention did the exact opposite and defended Trump with lies and deflection and had that angry and aggressive approach to our future.

The Trump Playbook — Convention Style

I wrote an article recently about the Trump playbook and described what it is and this is being used a lot at the RNC by the speakers in their futile attempt to defend the actions of Donald Trump over these last four years.

If you are unfamiliar with the Trump playbook, I will refresh your memory of how this is used to defend Trump.

The Trump playbook is used by Trump as well as those who support him, both people in politics as well as his voter base. This playbook is a series of tactics that are used to do one thing and that is to come to the defense of Trump and in many senses, put the focus on others.

Deflect, deny, and blame.

This is the Trump playbook and this has been the story of these two political conventions, one side uses these tactics to defend the reckless actions of the guy that they support and the other side focuses on the country and what we can do to make America better for all.

The mess of the RNC and their speakers deflect away from what Trump has done over these last four years, deny the things that he has said and done in that same time frame, and blames others for the actions taken by Trump that have made us less great and created more problems for all people that live in this country.

The DNC had an opposite approach, those who spoke at that convention did not outright lie about the current president or the man running against him and instead, stuck to the facts of what he has done and what they can do to change the course that we are on as a country.

There is no Democratic playbook, those in the Democratic Party focus on the facts and on the solution.

One Convention Had Aggressive Attacks and the Other Used Common Sense and Stable Leadership

The Republican National Convention focuses on a message of the bad of this country while the Democratic National Convention was about what we can be and the country that we can become if we have the right leadership in the office of the presidency.

Republicans are on there attacking the liberal leaders who have common sense solutions to our most trying issues in this nation while they themselves offer no solutions to the problems that they are their president have largely created over these last four years.

Republicans in a very vile way have attacked Joe Biden with viciousness like saying that he has dementia and so on while sitting there and praising the self-described “Stable genius” Donald Trump.

People like Nikki Haley and Donald Trump Jr. are up there attacking Biden while praising Trump who has failed with our response to the virus, has gone on to cripple our economy, who has morally bankrupted the country as well as the presidency and on down the line.

The truth is that the ones of the two conventions who have common sense and human decency and who would sanely lead this country is by far the ones who held their convention last week and that is the Democrats and their guy, Joe Biden.

Republicans just have used their convention thus far to attack and belittle people like Biden who has done nothing but work for the people of the country that he loves for decades and offer no plan of how they will make America great or keep it great, no plan at all.

The Dems have shown that they are the stable ones and the ones who have common sense and stability.

A Vision to Unite and Heal America or a Vision to Divide and Destroy It

The two Americas and the two visions of this country are on display with these two conventions.

Democrats want to as Biden says, heal the soul of this country while those on the other side want to fight for the rich, divide us into little groups that are easier to control, and destroy the progress of the previous administration and all that we created then.

Just look at how the Obama/Biden administration has been attacked by those at the RNC over the first two days and you will see where the party of Trump stands on what is best for this country. On the flip side, go back and watch the Democratic event and you will see how they want to heal the damage done by Trump and bring us together.

This pandemic has shown us just what party fights for America and what party could care less about us.

The party that wants what is best for this country and to unite us as one nation is the Democratic Party, but the speakers at the RNC want to lie and tell you that they are the good guys, but the actions by their candidate over these last several months on the pandemic as well as the last few years as a whole, show us that is not true.

Trump and his fellow Republicans are using their convention to pull the wool over your eyes and make you believe that they put America first and that it is the Democrats who are destroying our nation, but that is not the case and that never has been the case and if you follow the facts, you will just that and see for yourself.

The Final Verdict

The final verdict is that Donald Trump has been a HORRIBLE president and has done some really horrific things over these last few years and this event run by his party has defended those actions and used lies and deflection to make the case for four more years of him.

As Joe Biden says, we cannot handle four more years of Donald Trump, we simply cannot.

The two conventions have been about two Americas.

One America is a place where all people are equal, where wages are livable for all people, where black lives matter and where love is love, where women should control their own bodies, where science matters, and where the presidency should be occupied by human decency.

The other America is a place where white privilege prevails, where black lives do not matter, where the truth means nothing, where only some have to obey the law, and where corruption and nepotism is how the highest office in the land is run.

These are our two Americas and these are the two conventions of the political parties in this country — make a choice, it is either hate, division and lies or decency, unity, and the truth.

These are our choices — On November 3rd, choose wisely!
